Cassidy came to us in September 2009 from an illegal Brooklyn slaughterhouse. His crooked beak, a result from malnutrition as a baby, resulted in him becoming one of our permanent “special needs” Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary residents. His beak makes it difficult for him to eat regularly, so Cassidy has learned in his own way.
At first he lived with his white bird girls, who would always beat him to the food bowl. Noticing this, we now separate him when he eats so he has more time, feeding him a nutrient dense and healthful mash. He now lives in his own bachelor pad (though Giambi the cat sometimes joins him), next door to Didi and Nacho.
