An acoustic concert benefit for the
Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary
JP, Chrissie and the Fairground Boys is the new project of Chrissie Hynde and Welsh songwriter JP Jones. Co-written and co-produced by the pair, their new album Fidelity will be released on August 17.
You can hear a sampler of the new album on the band’s MySpace page.
A longtime vegetarian and vocal animal rights activist, Chrissie has even opened a vegan restaurant in her native Ohio. We’re profoundly thrilled that’s she’s chosen Woodstock Sanctuary as the venue for one of the earliest live performances of this fantastic new collaboration.
Opening performer Joy Askew has performed with such luminaries as Peter Gabriel and Laurie Anderson and played songs from her upcoming CD. Joy is also a longtime activist on behalf of farm animals, who have inspired much of her music and songs.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, all proceeds from this benefit were matched dollar-for-dollar.
