An acoustic concert benefit for the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary
JP, Chrissie and the Fairground Boys is the new project by Chrissie Hynde (of The Pretenders) and Welsh songwriter JP Jones. Co-written and co-produced by the pair, their new album Fidelity will be released on August 17.

A longtime vegetarian and vocal animal rights activist, Chrissie has even opened a vegan restaurant in her native Ohio, Akron’s The VegiTerranean. We’re profoundly thrilled that’s she’s chosen Woodstock Sanctuary as the venue for one of the earliest live performances of this fantastic new collaboration.
Opening performer Joy Askew played keyboards and sang with many artists including fellow Brits Joe Jackson, Peter Gabriel, Jack Bruce and performance artist Laurie Anderson. Joy is also a longtime activist on behalf of farm animals, who have inspired music of her music. She’ll play songs from her upcoming CD — read more about Joy’s amazing career on her website.
The concert will be held on an open lawn at the sanctuary in Willow, NY, directions here.
Proceeds from the concert will go directly to the charitable work of Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary and the care of over 200 formerly abused, abandoned and discarded farm animals.
For seating, guests are encouraged to bring reasonably-sized blankets and/or lawn chairs. Seating will be first come, first served. Please, no food or beverages. Drinks and popcorn will be available at the show with proceeds benefiting the Sanctuary, so please plan to eat your evening meal either before or afterward. And as much as we love them, no dogs please.
The show is on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, May 29th, and gates open at 5pm, show at 6pm. SOLD OUT General admission tickets are $30 advance / $35 door

Given the weather forecast we are full-steam ahead to hold this even outdoors, scattered rain is predicted earlier in the day so plan accordingly with your seating, if you’re bringing only blankets try to also bring a waterproof tarp in case the ground is moist.

Children under 12 are permitted for free, HOWEVER we would not describe this event as particularly interesting to or appropriate for your average kid. If the young one(s) cause any disruption to the concert we will unfortunately have to ask the adult accompanying them to take them home, as we just want to respect the performers and want to protect the musical experience for all the others in attendance.
